Last booked gig for 2008
They played an almost 2 hour set of mainly blues, as the band name suggests, including several tribute numbers to Peter Green
If you like blues then don’t miss the opportunity, if you get one locally, to see these guys – it was a great evening.
I need to start looking for my next tickets now!

ABC Wednesday - N
And still the safari photos keep coming ....
This time no animals although I know they are down there somewhere!
The crater is a a natural park formed from the volcano and covers almost 8500 square kilometres. I have cheated and added an extra photo from the web to show it from the air

Belated ABC Wednesday Post - M
Having missed last week's opportunity to post for the letter M, I decided that I would post late rather than miss it altogether.
I think that the posting although obviously not unique, is rather different and I wanted to share these non animal pictures from our safari trip in Tanzania.
So I give you some Masai Warriors (well tribes people anyway!)
Catch up post
I have been busy at work with another visit to
On the home front, I was extremely disappointed to have to withdraw from the 10k race that I entered and for which so many people were generous to sponsor me in aid of the British Heart Foundation. On my fourth training run for the event I injured my knee and after two weeks of literally not even being able to walk more than 50 metres without pain, I obtained advice from my GP. He organised an x-ray and to cut a long story short, he has now advised me that I should stop running as there is evidence of knee joint wear. Oh well I will just have to do a cycle ride instead as I cannot let all of those donors down.
Mrs DeeJay and I spent the weekend in
but also spent time at the National Gallery
and the
(they made my knee ache!) We had a great time at all three and topped off the visit with some fine dining at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants.

ABC Wednesday - L
As any of the regular readers to my blog no doubt expected, I have returned to my safari pictures for the letter L. These were all taken in the Serengeti National Park and we could have watched the lion cubs for hours. We did not see their parents but were sure that they were not far away as they kept looking for them to return, probably with food!
We were so lucky to spot the leopard as although they are quite plentiful in the Serengeti they are very shy and keep well away from the tracks. With the aid of a good lens on my camera I managed these very reasonable shots.

Well, it is this piece that does it for me every time and I guess from the video content that I am not the only one.
Every time, and I do mean every time I hear this the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and I get completely lost in the music. If I happen to then try to speak to someone about it I feel completely choked and can't speak without tears in my eyes.
There is even a fast 'dance' version of it that we sometimes use in spinning classes at the gym and although not as strong, I still get the hairs rising on my neck.
ABC Wednesday - K
For a change I am posting photos that are not of my own making
So many people have commented about my safari animal photos on how lucky I have been to see them and at such close quarters.
Well, these photos of Hurricane Katrina make me so very glad that we don't get such phenomena in the UK and I don't get to be so close to them. When I saw these photos I realised that not only were folks suffering from terrible losses of life and property but must have been so very frightened also. They are so evil looking and menacing to be almost beyond belief.
