Number 72 has arrived

You may remember my post a couple of weeks ago about Lambing Day, well last night Number72 arrived!
The nice farmer's wife delivered him (her?) to our door nicely wrapped and presented in various cuts (shoulders, whole and half legs, single chops, butterfly chops etc.). He now has a whole freezer drawer all to himself.
Roll on Sunday lunch!

I don't really know if it is Number 72 that we have but it does just personalise that roast a little bit doesn't it?

Oh no!! Ageis, you should be ashamed! How can you talk about 72 like that! As if he were no more than a piece of meat? He was a living baa-ing lamb, a child to his mother, a brother to his siblings.

Let's have a moment of silence when we remember 72 who, though his life were short, brought pleasure to many as they aah-ed over him frolicking in the fields.

I'm sorry Liz. I did think hard about posting that, but let's face it us carnivors think nothing of it when he gets on the plate and we conveniently don't think about the 'callous' farming, butchering and selling etc. so there is really nothing too precious about it.
But maybe your right I shouldn't have made fun of it.

Don't worry, I was teasing, Ageis! Maybe I should start doing those little faces to show when I'm joking!

Daughter has just found out that they are top of the list and will get an allotment in September. She is one very happy lambkins!

Thanks for the visit. Just read your beginning posts!

I have aging issues as I am 51 and must stand in front of a mirror for a living.

We have not been smart with savings, so I will have to work til I die!

Our salon owners are 60 and 64. They are both very with it and stay very busy with clients of all ages. They have been an incredible inspiration to me.

I am glad I met you!

PS I am a vegetarian (read the book Skinny Bitch and you will be, too!), so I had to ignore the content of your newest post. I don't judge. . . it just grosses me out so bad to think of eating a dead animal. . .

But, I do eat fish, so I am a hypocrite. Need some source of protein besides nuts, seeds and legumes!
