An offer I CAN refuse
I received the following in a mailshot that was trying to tempt me to take a short break in Ireland.
Now I know it is unkind and everyone seems to rejoice in making fun of the Irish, but when you see items such as the one on the left, is it any wonder.

ROFL! I wonder how many takers they've had?
My favourite story about the Irish is this, and it's supposedly true: a bridge was commissioned to be built across a large body of water in Ireland. There was a deadline, and the engineers decided it would be quicker to start at both ends at once and meet in the middle. You guessed it - they were a couple of feet out.
But before you laugh, here's the kicker. The bridge was being built by an English company!
