My Next Challenge

What is it about me that needs a personal challenge every few years?

There have been the seemingly endless list of Formula Ford Racing, 4x4 driving tuition, hot air ballooning, microlight flying lesson, light aircraft flying lesson, sailing lessons.

There was the challenge to learn to drive a 40 ton HGV truck – achieved with only a total of 24 hours tuition and never used since.

2 Years ago I decided to learn to ride a motorcycle for the first time in my life. Passed the test, bought my beautiful red VFR, passed my advanced riding test and wondered why I hadn't done it years before.

Now I am on the verge of deciding to learn to play the guitar. I have spent time this weekend in a couple of music shops as well as time last week talking to Furtheron and a non-blogging colleague to get their advice.

I am getting set to commence learning after the end of the summer when I have had my holidays, when all of the summer distractions are gone and the winter cold and dark nights are upon us.

Watch this space! I won’t ask you to listen unless I get there.

i am supposed to be learning drumming. I really enjoy it (although my sense of rhythm isn't the best) but finding time is the thing. Hope your guitar lessons go well.

Pete was learning to play the guitar before he met me. At the time we met, he was recovering from a severely bad back and still has problems that have prevented his playing but we hope to restart his lessons in Bristol soon...you've reminded me...it's his birthday in a couple of months.

Off topic: I am pleased to say Gabapentin continues to relieve my TN pain...I know it's there but also know the difference it's made. Thank you to everyone you work with!

So first decision? Acoustic or electric?.... :-)
